The 39th Meeting of Foreign-invested Veterinary Medicine Enterprises Development Symposium Held in Beijing, Focusing on Policy Alignment and International Collaboration

On May 29, 2026, the 39th meeting of the Foreign-invested Veterinary Medicine Enterprises Development Symposium, organized by the China Veterinary Drug Association (CVDA), was held in Beijing. The meeting focused on key topics including global veterinary medicine industry trends, domestic policy planning and regulatory priorities, and the alignment with international technical standards.

Mr. Lu Wang, Deputy Director of the China Institute of Veterinary Drug Control (IVDC), and Mr. Jinsong Yang, President of CVDA, attended the meeting and delivered keynote reports. Mr. Yichun Dong, Secretary-General of CVDA, and Mr. Tingwu Xue, Convener of the Symposium, also attended and addressed the participants.

In his remarks, Secretary-General Dong Yichun welcomed the representatives of foreign-invested enterprises and industry guests. He noted that foreign-invested enterprises are an important force in the development of China's veterinary medicine industry. The Association will continue to uphold its mission of "serving the government, serving the public, serving the industry, and serving the members" to promote technical exchanges and industrial collaboration between China and foreign countries in the veterinary medicine field, supporting the industry's compliance-driven and internationalized upgrading.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Hongbin Hu, Director of the Marketing and Usage Guidance Committee of CVDA. Mr. Wanmeng Li, General Manager of Ceva Nuokang Technology Development (Beijing) Co., Ltd., gave an overview of Ceva Santé Animale. The Ceva Nuokang team systematically presented the latest developments in the global veterinary medicine industry over the past 18 months, emerging technology R&D trends, and the latest requirements for international veterinary drug registration and regulation, providing valuable references for participating companies to grasp industry directions and align with international standards.

During the policy and regulatory interpretation session, Deputy Director Lu Wang and President Yang Jinsong elaborated on the profound impact of the 15th Five-Year Plan on the veterinary medicine industry, identifying industrial innovation, quality improvement, and green development as core priorities. They also outlined the recent regulatory priorities of the IVDC, covering key areas such as standard system development and production compliance, guiding foreign-invested enterprises to accurately understand regulatory requirements and maintain compliance as a bottom line.

In the thematic report and discussion session, Professor Yansheng Yin from the Biologics Evaluation Division of IVDC listened to foreign-invested enterprise representatives systematically outline issues related to the exposure draft of the Veterinary Pharmacopoeia of China (Volume III), biological product DOI/immunity duration, the latest developments of VICH (International Cooperation on Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Registration of Veterinary Medicinal Products), PIC/S GMP guidelines, and electronic labeling requirements for veterinary drugs. Professor Yin then responded to questions on veterinary drug product registration and standards management in China.

Participants also engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as industry policy implementation, technological innovation cooperation, and market development, offering suggestions and sharing insights on new opportunities for the industry's future growth.
