Anhui Biotech Leader Anke Biotechnology Accelerates Global Expansion with Innovative Drug Pipeline and International Standards
Hefei, China — August 2026 — As China’s innovative pharmaceutical industry accelerates its global expansion, Anhui-based biotechnology company Anke Biotechnology (300009.SZ) is leveraging its technological capabilities, international-standard manufacturing facilities, and innovative product pipeline to explore overseas markets.
“China achieved approximately USD 130 billion in cumulative innovative drug overseas transactions in 2025, and the figure has already reached around USD 110 billion in the first half of this year. The global potential of Chinese innovative medicines is significant. We hope Anke Biotechnology’s innovative technologies can represent Anhui and enter the global market, and we believe we have the capability to achieve this goal,” said Yao Jianping, Senior Vice President of Anke Biotechnology, during an interview with the “Vibrant China Research Tour” delegation.
On August 5, the delegation visited Anke Biotechnology’s production base located in Hefei High-tech Industrial Development Zone. As a leading local biopharmaceutical enterprise in Anhui Province, Anke Biotechnology has established a comprehensive development strategy combining advanced API development, international-standard manufacturing platforms, and diversified commercial product pipelines.
Through the observation windows of its clean production facilities, visitors witnessed the company’s advanced antibody drug production lines — the first large-scale therapeutic antibody commercial production line in Anhui Province designed and constructed according to European Union standards.
Peptide APIs Become a Key Entry Point for Overseas Expansion
Peptide active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) have become one of Anke Biotechnology’s strategic breakthroughs in international markets.
According to company representatives, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Suhao Yiming recently obtained the Certificate of Suitability (CEP) certification from the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) for its Octreotide API. The certification officially came into effect on July 31, marking the third peptide API product from Suhao Yiming to receive European Pharmacopoeia approval.
The successful registration of peptide APIs in overseas markets represents an important milestone in Anke Biotechnology’s internationalization strategy. By establishing compliance capabilities and overseas customer channels, the company is building a foundation for sustainable global business growth.
Strong Domestic Performance Supports Long-Term Global Strategy
A solid business foundation provides continuous support for international expansion.
In 2025, Anke Biotechnology achieved revenue of RMB 2.647 billion and net profit of RMB 735 million. Since its listing, the company has maintained strong growth momentum, with compound annual growth rates of 18.1% in operating revenue and 19.71% in attributable net profit.
The company’s core growth hormone products maintain a leading position in China’s market, while its traditional Chinese medicine brand Yuliangqing Pharmaceutical continues to provide stable cash flow through a diversified pharmaceutical portfolio combining traditional Chinese medicine and modern pharmaceuticals.
Driving Regional Biopharmaceutical Industry Development in Hefei
As a key enterprise in Hefei’s biopharmaceutical industry cluster, Anke Biotechnology is also contributing to the upgrading of the regional life sciences ecosystem.
“Biopharmaceuticals are one of Hefei’s key emerging strategic industries. The city has now gathered more than 1,000 companies in the biopharmaceutical sector, with annual industry revenue exceeding RMB 100 billion. Pharmaceutical and medical device registrations have experienced rapid growth,” said Liu Xitong, Deputy Director of the Biopharmaceutical Industry Division of Hefei Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology.
In recent years, Hefei has strengthened support for the biopharmaceutical sector through platform development, investment attraction, policy support, and ecosystem construction. The city’s biopharmaceutical industry has grown rapidly from an early-stage foundation into a comprehensive industrial cluster.
In 2025, Hefei’s biopharmaceutical industry achieved:
- Total industrial chain revenue of RMB 113.568 billion
- Industrial output value of RMB 22.32 billion, up 5.8% year-on-year
- 105 new pharmaceutical approvals, increasing 11.7% year-on-year
- 31 new Class III medical device registrations, increasing 72% year-on-year
- 179 new Class II medical device registrations, increasing 30.7% year-on-year
The number of newly approved pharmaceutical and medical device products accounted for more than half of Anhui Province’s total.
Government Investment Supports Biopharmaceutical Innovation
Liu Xitong emphasized that Hefei’s strong investment capabilities have provided important financial support for the growth of the biopharmaceutical industry.
The city has actively leveraged government guidance funds to attract social capital participation. More than RMB 30 billion in biopharmaceutical-related sub-funds have been established or invested in, while Hefei continues to develop a RMB 5 billion municipal biopharmaceutical special fund and a RMB 100 million seed fund operated by Hefei Investment & Capital Group’s healthcare research institute.
These initiatives aim to provide full lifecycle financing support for biopharmaceutical companies, from early-stage innovation and technology transformation to commercialization and global expansion.
Building a Global Future Through Innovation
With internationally compliant manufacturing capabilities, strong R&D foundations, and expanding overseas registration experience, Anke Biotechnology is accelerating its transformation from a domestic biopharmaceutical leader into a globally competitive innovative pharmaceutical company.
The company’s overseas expansion strategy reflects a broader trend among Chinese pharmaceutical enterprises: moving from traditional product exports toward technology-driven international cooperation, global registration, and localized market development.
